Exhibition stands at Messe München

General view of the Gms stand at the fair 2025 in Münih: a 153 sqm maxima system build.

Our largest Munich job was a 153 square metre maxima stand: the Gms 2025 Munich exhibition stand, built for bauma for a construction company. A system stand of that size taught us how Messe München works across its 18 halls and 200,000 square metres; as on every job, the stand is assembled in our workshop in Beylikdüzü, taken apart, shipped as numbered parts and built again in the hall. The slot at the loading gate, the technical file with the hall management and the build hours are the invisible half of the job; we take on that half too.

Building in the Messe München halls: what we have learned

On the GMS stand we solved 153 square metres with maxima; at that scale, printed panels on an aluminium grid go up in one to three days in the hall. The floor calculation for a heavy machine sample is done in the first step of the design. Pictures are on our construction page.

The technical file goes to the hall management from us, and production does not start before height, rigging and power approval is back. Where we do not know a hall rule we ask and get the answer in writing rather than guess. At German fairs our Aachen office gives local support, so for the correspondence with the hall and during build week you have a contact on the German side. At the close of the fair our own crew dismantles the stand.

Fairs at this venue

  • BAU Munich, 11–15 January 2027. Building products; for heavy facade panels and large-format tiles we draw a reinforced back structure. Stands we have built in the same sector are on our building page.
  • Intersolar Europe, 8–10 June 2027. Solar; a hanging layout and a lighting plan for panel and inverter samples. The 110 square metre timber stand we built for Solinved at SolarEX in Istanbul is an example from the same sector.
  • bauma, 3–9 April 2028. Construction machinery; our GMS stand comes from this fair. The machine weight sets the floor plan, and the machine's entry into the hall is followed against the organiser's loading schedule.

Dates, preparation timeline and the fair's own questions are on each fair page.

Which stand type

  • Maxima system: the type we chose for GMS; a fast build on a large plot, one to three days in the hall.
  • Custom timber build: uninterrupted surfaces, dimensions drawn for your brand, heavy sample fixings; two to five days in the hall. Our first suggestion for building products at BAU.
  • Island stand: at a machinery fair like bauma we put the machine in the middle and the meeting area at the edge.

Drawing both types for the same plot and showing them side by side is no extra work for us.

Frequently asked

How do freight and customs to Munich work?
The stand leaves the workshop as numbered parts; freight, the ATA Carnet and customs are our job. The 153 square metres of the GMS stand went the same way, and the client took delivery of a finished stand in the hall.
How many days does a plot of more than 150 square metres take to build?
A maxima stand on the scale of GMS is finished in one to three days in the hall, a custom timber build in two to five. What sets the time is not only the area but the build hours the hall allows; we learn those at the technical file stage and plan the crew around them.
Can you take a heavy machine onto the stand?
Yes. We ask for the machine's dimensions and weight when quoting and draw the floor, and the plinth if there is one, accordingly. Bringing the machine into the hall depends on the organiser's loading schedule, and we follow that slot as well.
What should we send for a quote?
The fair name and dates, your floor area, the number of open sides, the hall plan if you have it and a list of the products or machines you will show. Send it through the quote form; we reply within 48 hours, the first concept is free and the written budget comes in three options.
